In 2014, I worked for a company that developed off-the-shelf digital products, similar to SharePoint. My department was responsible for customizing those products or creating new ones to meet the specific needs of various clients.

 

During a lull at work, the CEO approached both me and the other UI designer to start creating concept dashboard ideas using a product called SharePlus. SharePlus was a tool designed to create dashboards for users by utilizing various data feeds and visualizing that data through tables, infographics, charts, and more, specifically for mobile devices. The CEO was having difficulty demonstrating SharePlus's capabilities, as we didn’t have many adopters at launch, and he needed something to give a clear idea of what the product was intended to do.

 

After discussing with the development team, we began designing a variety of interfaces and dashboards based on the current capabilities of SharePlus. Since it was before the era of responsive design, we started with phone designs in both portrait and landscape orientations and then moved on to tablet layouts for both orientations.
